ENCINITAS, CALIFORNIA— A person was found dead on an off-ramp from Interstate 5 in Encinitas on Tuesday morning, according to officials.
California Highway Patrol Office Tommy Doerr told that the body of a dead person was found around 6.30 a.m.
It was located on the Encinitas Boulevard off-ramp from northbound Interstate 5.
The person’s death is not revealed yet. The circumstances that lead to the death is not known. The police officers are still investigating the case. No details about the victim were immediately available.
The identity of the person is being investigated. The police will make a new announcement about the identity of the victim later on.
California Highway Patrol Officers had to shut down the off-ramp as soon as they found the body. The ramp remained closed until 9 a.m., according to Caltrans.
A Sig-alert was issued for the area. The authorities recommend civilians to use an alternative route if there is a possibility to do so. The area needs to be investigated and anybody who is usually using this route should avoid it.
